SceneWriter Pro is a good option for screenwriters who want to create screenplays with the Hollywood standard format.
When you begin to work with the program, it shows a welcome wizard that allows you to run a tutorial in case you don't have experience working with the program. To create a screenplay you first need to create a project. Then, you need to introduce the title, author, version, copyright, and contact info. The version allows you to indicate if you want to do a rough outline, first draft, second draft, final draft, or re-write a screenplay.
The workspace is where you can add scenes to your project to outline your script. The program allows you to add individual scenes which gives you the advantage of changing their order and fill in the text later.
All the scenes can be found on the Scene List window, where you can also see the duration of your script and add notes for your scenes.
To edit a scene you first need to select the scene. Next you select a scene element inside the Scene Editor such as slug line, direction, character, parethetical, dialog, transition, or shot. Next, you fill the fields of the selected scene element. After that, the information will be displayed on the scene editor with the suitable format. You can activate an option to underline spelling errors in your script.
After making any change you need to click "Apply Changes", or you can activate an option to apply changes automatically.
After saving your script, you can send it to print, or you can export it or create a PDF file.
